Vault treasures unveiled

Timeless, released Aug. 28, gathers 10 rare recordings from Paisley Park’s archive that chart Prince’s evolution across five decades.

Early spark and genre-bending moments

The opener is a 1977 cut, "I Am You," recorded when Prince was 19 and hinting at the Minneapolis Sound he would perfect. The compilation also features an early 1981 version of "Tick, Tick, Bang" later reworked for the 1990 Graffiti Bridge soundtrack, the 1985 fan favorite "Heaven," and a 1991 demo of "With This Tear," a song he gave to Céline Dion for her 1992 album.
