After the exercises the group received diplomas and a "Paratrooper" badge. The course follows the same program used by parachute-capable units of the Air and Space Force, Army, Navy and Civil Guard, according to the royal household's statement.
Leonor began a three-year program of military rotation in 2023 and is set to finish this year. Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles called the training "an essential step in the life of Her Royal Highness...toward the leadership of our country." After her military duties she will study political science at Carlos III University of Madrid while continuing royal commitments. Her parents are King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia; her sister, Princess Sofía, is studying in Lisbon.
