Throughout the mid‑90s the two were a familiar sight: attending GoldenEye premieres in New York, London and Sydney, charity nights, boxing matches and environmental exhibits. Smith’s activism for oceans and dolphins saw her bring Brosnan to related events in support of those causes.

Family first

The couple wed in 2001 after years together and have two sons. Brosnan also has a son from his first marriage to actress Cassandra Harris, who died in 1991, and he adopted Harris’s two children from a prior marriage. In 2022 the pair told PEOPLE they attribute their long relationship to friendship, teamwork and solving problems together.
