A movie rooted in personal history

Travolta was in Cannes to debut his directorial effort, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, adapted from his 1997 children's book about an eight-year-old aviation lover named Jeff. He wrote the book for his late son Jett and revealed he cried when Frémaux told him the film had been accepted.

Family, flights and the red carpet

Earlier the actor piloted his own flight to France and joked that champagne aboard was on him, sharing the moment on Instagram. He walked the red carpet with daughter Ella Bleu and other cast members. The film arrives on Apple TV on May 29.
